Well, we all survived our first clinic of the year. It was a great success, if I do say so myself.
We had perfect weather..cold in the morning but clear and bright in the afternoons. The sunscreen came out both days!
Jimmy did an excellent job as always. The footing was great. No serious mishaps. I wish I could have cleared the entire waiting list, but most did get in.
Pictures should be available on Shutterfly soon. I need another few days to get the DVD and download. Check back for details.
Sign up early next year…Jimmy will be back around the same time. Exact date tbd.
Next up: Area VII Adult Camp! We’re almost ready for you.
Check the calendar page for lots more good stuff coming up.
See you out there!

First, all the pictures are at www.tulipspringsian.shutterfly.com/action
There are 1000 pictures in 4 albums. Grab a cup of coffee and enjoy!
Ian was an absolute star, giving everyone a positive experience while challenging us to move up more than we would have guessed possible. If I had known ahead of time what I would be jumping by the end of the day Sunday, I think I would have had a few sleepless nights. In real time, though, Ian’s progression through the gymnastic exercises on Saturday and then the sequence of fences used on Sunday set up a very successful result.
I’m working on a clinic schedule for next year and Ian will definitely be on it!

Yes, it’s true. All courses, BN through Prelim have been completed and they look great! We also have about six Intro jumps in case you are under-caffeine-ated and a few challenging Intermediate lines for an extra thrill.
In a few weeks we’ll post the course maps the way the courses really turned out. The maps that are up now reflect the basic scale and complexity, but a lot of details changed as we built. The new courses are even better!
THANKS to Bert Wood and his awesome team for getting this done on time and on budget! How cool is that?

THANKS to Sally for all the great shots.
Be sure to see all three albums at that address..There are nearly 240 pics!
You can order very large, high quality prints from Shutterfly because the image files they have are very high res. You can download a relatively lower res image for use on your PC. If you want the orginal large digital file, you’ll need to contact me, , with good details about which shot it is and I can email that file to you directly (Shutterfly doesn’t enable downloads of the large image file).
Have fun!

THANKS to all the organizers and volunteers, we had a successful opening weekend with so many more participants than expected, I had to add extra paddocks and borrow the neighbor’s field.
I think everyone had a great time and learned a lot. The few inevitable crisis moments just clarified the items on the next phase “to do” list, but didn’t dampen anyone’s fun.
It is so nice to see the main field done and looking so nice with all the horses using it. Stay tuned for news about the next phase.
THANKS!

Thanks to Ed Burge for bringing me a few great Intermediate jumps from Deep Creek! We now have one Intermediate line and I hope to have a few more jumps arriving tomorrow. These should be useful for all the high level folks coming to ride with Ian Stark in October!

Thanks to the group of local riders who came out Saturday and schooled the course, with Desiree’s guidance. In spite of the surprise attack by some angry bees in the stadium jumping area, I think everyone had a great time. The bees have since been dealt with :-))
Names withheld to protect the innocent, we also had out first on-course striptease act.
The irrigation is now greening up the stadium area (and drowning what is left of the bees). We’re ready for schooling by appointment and looking forward to the Labor Day clinic and Derby!
