Open Eventing Derby: Sunday September 2 Sponsored by NW Horse Trials Association
Area VII Adult Riders and the Northwest Horse Trials Association ("NWHTA") worked together to bring our Northwest Eventing Community a fun "season finale" camp and derby at the newly built cross-country site, Tulipsprings, in Kennewick, WA. Professionally designed by Mogie Bearden-Mueller and built by Bert Woods and his team, this is an exciting upcoming facility in Kennewick, WA with cross-country courses from Beginner Novice through Preliminary.
This was an opportunity to join in the fun, camaraderie and great lessons during the second camp this season, which was held over Labor Day Weekend at Tulipsprings. The camp was held Friday and Saturday, August 31 and September 1 and was followed on Sunday September 2nd by an event derby organized by the NWHTA. Monday was available for schooling as well. We had a great turnout!

LOVED everything. It was a FABULOUS time. Except for the heat, I learned a lot. I thought the combo clinic/derby was a great idea. It was a great way to test everything you worked on all weekend. The courses were inviting and challenging. I will come again. It was worth the 3.5 hour drive.

When I moved to Kennewick I never would have imagined that I would
have such a lovely facility only a half hour from where I live. I
had a wonderful time teaching our Area V11 Adult Riders and look
forward to working with people again who are as passionate about
learning to ride well as I am.
